So, what is everyone's opinion on the next installment in the PMD series? Love it? Hate it? There WILL be spoilers in here for those who want to avoid in game details. (just forewarning)

I'll probably buy it anyway, as I'm obsessed with the PMD series, but I dunno if it'll be any good =/
First of all, there doesn't seem to be a quiz to decide who you are =/ You just pick one of the three games, get slapped out with an asortment of pokemon, then you pick 4 (I think) to be your team, then 2 to be your party, then 1 to be who you are. Also, on the topic of the starters, wtf is up with Pichu AND Pikachu as starters? But it gets even weirder, why is Wynaut a starter? x.x In PMD tanking pokemon like Wynaut are practically useless. Doubly so considering his only attacking move is the basic non-move tackle.
Next of all, the way they showcase the games (as well as comparing other Wiiware games to their games of origin) I fear there won't be one of the epic, heart wrenching, storylines I've come to love from the PMD series. Of course, I could be very mistaken, but the odds are against it in my book.
Last thing on my list for now, is the chibi polygon pokemon. I honestly can't take my team seriously when it looks like hobbling spheres with tiny appendages sticking out; I was rather fine with the old animations.

So, do you think it'll be a good game unlike my predictions, or fall flat on its face and ruin the series like (the ironically 3rd installment) Super Paper Mario?

Well I love PMD like more then the other games simply because the story is breathtaking for a guy like me. I loved PMD1 and PMD2, PMD Sky sounds meh but PMD3 sounds very very odd.

Firstly I am not familiar with wiiware. How much is 1500 points these days?

Also you can connect your DS to the wii and use your DS to control the game which is more useful in my opinion. I hope you can play like against each other like on wifi or travel together or something cause I am so sick and tired of not having such a capability for such an epic series.

1500 points is 15 US Dollars. Dunno if it's 6-7 pounds or 15 though =o

The big thing I don't get is why make it for the Wiiware? =/ If most people are going to use the DS to control the game anyway, why not cash in, make the games better, and just stick them on the DS?

I do hope that they'll allow you to do those Wifi things you mentioned, but I haven't seen anything yet that would point to it =/

*also thanks for adding the youtube into my post =D*

I've played both PMD1 and 2. It was an original idea and it was a meh game. But, one main problem about the games - they don't add anything new. sure you could get all the sinnoh pokes in the second one, but the gameplay was exactly the same - fight in random caves until you get to the boss. only thing different is the plot, which isn't really worth 45 euros/pounds/whatever currency

Same thing goes for the wiiware titles. I see this addition of the pokemon tower. WTF is it? How does it change the way you play? It reminds me of those twack totems in mario and luigi - partners in time - weaker on the defense but stronger on offense (although it looks like the only pokemon doing all the work is the bottom one. Graphics are ripped straight out of pokemon ranch. Can they even make an effort on THAT? 1500 points for a game that I've already played, apart from a different story? I'll gladly spend that much on a good book and probably get much more enjoyment out of it.

lol, pretty good; there are plenty of books out there I'd like ;D

But anywho, as for the pokemon towers, whenever I look of them; I think of drunk college parties. Whenever you get frat boys drunk and near a swimming pool, you're bound to have chicken fighting =P (Which is exactly what I think of when I see the pokemon towers)

But, upon further looking, there are only 7 dungeons to the main story, then 8 addition dungeons for each game. I mean, that's just pathetic =/ (45 overall, but that's still a small ammount, IF you were to get all 3)
Also, to add insult ontop of everything else, they wish to profit off of the games by this little doosy:
If you own one of the games - you can have a total of 176 pokemon on your squad and can bank 320 items.
If you own two of the games - you can have a total of 352 pokemon on your squad and can bank 640 items.
But if you own all three games - you can have a total of 552 pokemon on your squad and can have 1000 items.

Thus, in order to even accomplish anything (like get all the pokemon) you'd have to get ALL THREE of them. I mean, PMD1 let you have more pokemon than having 1 or even 2 of the games and they only had 1-3 generation pokemon, not all the 4th generations!

I'm getting the deep sinking feeling that PMD is going down the road of Paper Mario. The first two games were pretty awesome; the third installment will kill the legacy =/ (although it isn't so much a legacy as just a really good storyline for a /pokemon/ game =P )

OI, super paper mario is awesome. I played that game, and the sheer brilliance of switching from 2D into 3D is an amazing idea. The battle system is fairly simple, and has a very witty storyline. there are some challenging bits, but the only thing about the game I hate is the easiness of the game unlike mario and luigi RPG series and the fact that the space levels were dull.

Oh, and that pit of 100 trails <3

lol, super paper mario was good in and of itself, but as a part of the paper mario series, I was insulted =P No RPG in MY paper mario? =O
(Pit of 100 trials in Paper Mario 2 was far more epic ;D )

Anyway, I'm just going to have to wait and buy the game; I have a feeling I'll regret it, but I must v_v

Hopefully the story is at least /decent/ but I don't think they CAN make a decent storyline out of the "Legend of Arceus"

I mean, no epic catastrophe? No crazy darkrai trying to bring about the end of time and (for the most part) life as we know it? No meteor going to wipe out the planet? No, they're making you go on a goose chase to track down god, for little to no reason. And god joins the adventure squad v_v;
Doesn't god have....responsibilities to uphold?

hmm, I think I'm gonna go with Sky and forget about PMD 3

I knew about arceus before I knew about Pkmn Diamond, so I'm dying to find out more!

But the trailer DOES look rather good...

Since a bot who registered before the new site was rebooted replied to this, I'll bump it.

Anybody got this? I love Mystery Dungeon and I hope it's good! I want it so badly. ;_; Another journey of broken hearts is what I need!
