Posted by: Orenji  •  Forum: Pokémon News HQ 29th April 2012, 7:21 pm

Yo PWers,

The site has been down for the past week or so due to some issues with finance and servers. There has been much speculation about whether this was the end of PW but rest assured, the staff and a few members will continue to provide the community their playground regardless of any obstacles which may get in our way.

As some of you may know, there are major changes coming to PW. Some have asked what, but a lot of the ideas haven’t been decided for certain, and will be solidified in due time. We’re hopefully going to execute these changes over the next month or so, so we encourage you to post in suggestions and they will all be considered.

The staff would like to apologise to you all for the recent downtime but we also want to thank you for your support and loyalty.

Regards,
Your staff.
Get posting.

Edit: This post looks real boring so,

Nintendo Direct Round-Up
Image

Earlier today Nintendo Direct aired for Europe, as per usual it brought its usual announcements, video footage, and release date for big upcoming titles for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo 3DS. Here is a Round-up of what was covered this time!

Nintendo Direct started with giving us new details about Mario's newest adventure that is Mario Tennis for the 3DS. It showed that over 200 items can be collected and used by the characters in your game! Download play was also shown to be available, this will enable up to four players can take part in a game with just the one cartridge being used!

Fans of the newly released Kid Icarus: Uprising will be happy to know that Nintendo have teamed up with the company Panini to distribute the AR cards in store sometime this year, as well as an album binder to place them in!

Keeping on the subject of Kid Icarus they also showed a short video titled: Technique Guide, this gives tips and hint to players of the game, this can be found here along with the Video of the Stream and other videos about things covered in stream!

A few games were finally given European Release Dates, these are:
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance on the 20th of July.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is due for a summer release.
Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise a new Wii title will be released on the 6th of July

Animal Crossing was mentioned within the Japanese version of Nintendo direct, and is stated for an autumn release over there.

A new Mario game was announced, this is the follow up to the DS title New Super Mario Bros. The title of course is New Super Mario Bros. 2 3DS. Few details are known about the game at this point other then it will feature the Tanooki Suit and is set for release in Europe in August!

The 3DS will be receiving a system update in the next few days, on the 25th of April users will finally be able to create folders on their home screens which will be able to hold up to 60 titles in each, this will allow users to have a less cluttered screen, as well as making it easier to find games! They also confirmed that they will now be able to release patches for shop bought games, the first of which will be for Mario Kart 7 which will stop the Wuhu Island glitch, this will be released mid-May!

And finally the part you are actually interested in. The news about the two new Pokémon apps for the 3DS
The first is a new Pokédex app which is called: Pokédex 3D Pro, this new app will include every Pokémon, it has also been shown that it will include the different forms! It is priced at 1500 yen (about £11.40) currently in japan and will be released later in the year!

The second of the two goes under the name Pokémon AR Searcher, this will be released at the same time as Black and White 2 in Japan. The app allows players to search for Pokémon which once caught can then be sent to the two new games! It has been said that some pretty rare Pokémon can be found! This app is also set for release later in 2012 for Europe.

PW Swiss Sundays Season #2

Since the beginning of the year up until VGC PW ran a very successful Swiss Sunday, this was a Swiss tourney held every Sunday evening on the online simulator Pokémon Online.

I am now happy to announce that it shall return for its second season. Whereas the first season you were playing for rankings at London 3, this time you will be playing for the newly created Swiss Sunday Trophy:

Image

In the coming weeks the season 1 winner will also be given this once the points have been tallied!

The first Swiss Sunday will start next Sunday 29th April 2012 and Season #2 will run for 10 weeks ending the week before the anticipated date of Manchester #4!

This Season the points will be tallied differently, rather than all your scores coming together a new system will be put into place where you will get points for winning, coming second, third etc. Note this may change

View the latest post CoroCoro Leaks - First Solid Black 2 & White 2 Details
Posted by: Demelza  •  Forum: Pokémon News HQ 12th April 2012, 12:35 pm

First Pokémon Black 2 & Pokémon White 2 Details

So, Japanese magazine CoroCoro has finally leaked and we now have the first proper details to do with up-coming main series Pokémon games Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2. A few details may come as quite a surprise to you.

Image

First off we now know the games are set two years after the events of Pokémon Black, and Pokémon White. In this time parts of Unova have been frozen over with ice, new areas have come to light, and a few of the old ones have changed.

The first CoroCoro image shows us the two playable characters (The two on the far right), and our rival as well as a new Gym Leader, and some sort of strange new researcher who goes by the name of Achroma. Interestingly our new playable heroes start out in a new city going under the name of Hiougi City. This marks the first time players will be starting out from a city over a small town. The new Gym Leader (The girl holding the guitar), goes under the name of Homika and is a Poison type Gym Leader, the first since the Fuchsia City Gym in Kanto. Homika's Gym is part of a music club, so is sure to be an interesting one.

Image

The second screen gives us a better look ar Achroma, and also reveals another new Gym Leader. The next new Gym Leader is a Water type trainer and goes by the name of Shizui. The screen also tells us a bit more about our starting point, Hiougi City. It seems the city will include a Pokémon Center (Another first for a starting town...Well, city in this case), a trainer school, and most interestingly of all an Aquarium. How much fun is it going to be walking around and having Water type Pokémon swimming above you?

Image

The final screen details changes to the Unova Pokédex. It's said the Pokédex will now include a mix of both new and old Pokémon to bring it to a total of 300 Pokémon. We can see from the screen some of those included are Psyduck, Eevee, Arcanine, Lapras, Riolu, Tyranitar, Metagross, and Mantine who aren't in this screen, but have been confirmed for the Aquarium. Some of the mentioned Pokémon have also been given Pokédex numbers which shows quite a shake-up to the dex overall. For example, Riolu will be number 033, Psyduck number 026, and Metagross number 254.

Finally, it has been confirmed that Black Kyurem will know the special move of Freeze Shock, while White Kyurem will know the special move Ice Burn

Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 are confirmed to be getting a release in Japan on the 23rd of June. And don't forget Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash will have a trailer showing the games in action when their show airs at the weekend. They may also include a few new details of their own about the games.

As many of you may have noticed a number of changes have taken place. Firstly Pokerob has stepped down from his role as head administrator of Pokemon World. I’m sure you will all join me in thanking him for his great work and commitment to the website over the years! Also the much loved administrator Pikachimba has also stepped down from his position, his dedication shall be missed greatly! With that said Pokemon World is now entering a new age, with myself becoming head administrator, being closely assisted by the wonderful KaGa. We shall be supported by the new global moderators Orenji and Nathan!

We have also moved the chat to the more reliable synIRC server after complaints about geekshed have been made. The chat box on site will lead you to the new chatroom, however you will all need to re-register your names.

Expect more changes to happen in the coming weeks!
